Jinmo Yang is a South Korean film editor. He attended high school and university in the United States, graduating from Bard College.
Yang began as an assistant editor on several Korean films and eventually became the Editor for films such as Bong Joon-ho’s Okja and Train to Busan. His other Editor credits include Bitter Sweet Seoul, The Beauty Inside, 1987: When The Day Comes and Battle: Roar to Victory.
Most recently, Yang edited Parasite for Bong Joon-ho, which earned him critical appraisal and recognition, including an American Cinema Editors Award for Best Edited Dramatic Feature Film at the ACE Awards in 2020. This made Parasite the first non-English-language film to win the top prize at the ACE Awards.
He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Editing for his work on the film. Parasite won four Academy Awards including Best Picture.
Yang speaks fluent English.
